Candice Chirwa leads a Know Your Flow workshop to break period stigma and fight period poverty

Period poverty is more than access to pads — it’s a sanitation, health, education, and dignity issue. The Global Citizen team visited a Know Your Flow menstrual health workshop led by menstrual health activist Candice Chirwa, creating a safe and empowering space for girls to learn about menstrual health, the menstrual cycle, period products, and breaking common myths about periods. Menstrual health is a critical part of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and advancing gender equality.
