From Guangzhou to Auckland: Siya’s Journey into Engineering at the University of Auckland

Siya’s journey began at an open day event in Guangzhou, where she first discovered the University of Auckland. Inspired by the environment and opportunities in New Zealand, she took a bold step and enrolled at the University of Auckland International College (UoAIC) to begin her academic path. Adjusting to life in a new country and studying in English wasn’t easy—but it helped Siya grow both personally and academically. Through her time at UoAIC, she built strong friendships, found a supportive homestay, and developed the confidence to take on challenges in university-level engineering courses. Today, Siya is thriving as a first-year Engineering student at the University of Auckland. Her love for solving problems, especially in coding, drives her passion for engineering.
