Video Description
A Black-backed Forktail exploring the rocky banks of a fast-flowing stream in Motidhar. Unlike the striking black-and-white adults, this juvenile bird displays softer sooty-brown upperparts and lacks the prominent white forehead patch seen in mature individuals. Despite its young age, the bird already shows the species' distinctive white wing bar and elegant, deeply forked tail marked with white bands and tips. Black-backed Forktails are specialists of clear mountain streams, where they forage among rocks and shallow water for insects, larvae, and other small aquatic invertebrates. Their agility allows them to hop effortlessly across wet stones while searching for food. The pristine stream habitat captured in this footage reflects the healthy freshwater ecosystems that these birds depend upon throughout the Himalayan foothills. #BlackBackedForktail #EnicurusImmaculatus #Motidhar #Mussoorie #Uttarakhand #BirdsOfIndia #HimalayanBirds #StreamBird #WildlifeIndia #NatureDocumentary Black-backed Forktail, Enicurus immaculatus, juvenile forktail, Motidhar Mussoorie, Uttarakhand birds, Himalayan stream bird, bird foraging, mountain stream wildlife, birdwatching India, nature documentary This footage is part of the broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest HD and 4K collection from South Asia.
