Peanut planting
Video Description
To grow peanuts in a small pot, you will need: A pot that is at least 7 inches deep and has drainage holes in the bottom. Well-draining potting mix. Peanuts in their shells (you can buy raw peanuts at a grocery store). Instructions: Fill the pot with potting mix, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top. Plant the peanut seeds about 1 inches deep. Water the pot well. Place the pot in a sunny spot. Water the pot regularly, keeping the soil moist but not soggy. Fertilize the peanuts every 2-3 weeks with a balanced fertilizer, and add more soil to cover the peanut root collars until the pot is filled. When the peanut plants start to flower, they will begin to produce pegs, which are underground stems that will eventually develop into peanuts. To help the pegs develop, hill up the soil around the base of the plants. Peanuts are ready to harvest when the leaves start to turn yellow and the plants start to dry out. To harvest the peanuts, dig up the plants and carefully remove the peanuts from the pegs. Here are some additional tips for growing peanuts in a small pot: Use a pot that is deep enough to accommodate the long roots of the peanut plants. Use a well-draining potting mix to prevent the roots from rotting. Water the peanuts regularly, but be careful not to overwater them. Peanuts are susceptible to root rot if the soil is too wet. Fertilize the peanuts every 2-3 weeks with a balanced fertilizer. This will help the plants to produce more peanuts. Hill up the soil around the base of the plants when they start to flower. This will help the pegs to develop. Harvest the peanuts when the leaves start to turn yellow and the plants start to dry out. With proper care, you can grow peanuts in a small pot and enjoy a delicious harvest of your own homegrown peanuts.
