Did JJK Reference LOOK BACK!?

Higuruma’s backstory in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 9—where he’s studying for the bar exam—might be a secret reference to a scene in Look Back, where Fujino and Fujino are drawing, and a timelapse shows the seasons changing as they work. The scene is beautifully directed, showing a timelapse of Higuruma studying at his desk with soft light pouring through a big window, stacks of books everywhere, and the subtle passage of time from summer, winter, autumn. It’s strikingly similar to Fujimoto’s Look Back, where the story shows someone chasing their dream—and the emotional reality that comes after. Interestingly, this scene with Higuruma studying wasn’t in the manga, which makes it even more likely that the anime is referencing Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work.
