Giant Honey Bees or Rock Bees (Apis dorsata) visiting and pollinating a sunflower (Helianthus annuus) in Jabarkhet, near Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India. The flower displays bright yellow ray florets surrounding a dense central disc composed of numerous individual florets. Several bees are actively foraging for nectar and pollen on the flower head. Apis dorsata is one of the largest honey bee species in Asia and plays an important role in the pollination of both wild and cultivated plants. Pollinator activity contributes to seed production and the reproductive success of flowering species.
