Global National: June 3, 2026 | US threatens new tariffs on Canada, citing forced labour

The Trump administration proposed that tariffs of 10 per cent or more be imposed on products from dozens of countries, including Canada, following a probe into imported products that are allegedly made with forced labour. Released early Wednesday by the U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer, the report said forced labour “creates a dynamic where American workers are forced to compete globally on an unlevel playing field.” Mackenzie Gray has more. Kuwait briefly closed the country’s main airport Wednesday after Iranian drones heavily damaged a terminal building, killing one person and wounding dozens — the latest salvo in a series of back-and-forth attacks by Iran and the United States that have tested a fragile ceasefire. American news network CBS has fired longtime 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley after reported clashes between the veteran journalist and the news organization’s new management. Eric Sorensen has more. Plus, Henry Nowak, 19, was arrested shortly after being stabbed under the pretense he racially abused and assaulted his murderer. The accusation turned out to be false and Nowak died from his injuries during his arrest, despite repeatedly telling officers he had been stabbed and couldn't breath.
