Henry Nowak protests turn VIOLENT with BRICKS thrown at police as two ARRESTED in Southampton

Bricks, glass bottles, bins and even an e-scooter were hurled at police as a protest over the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak turned violent last night - with another demonstration planned today. Policing Minister Sarah Jones told Sky News that two people had been arrested so far following the violence. She said: "One, as I understand it, was arrested for assaulting a police officer, one for possession of a weapon. The police will be looking at the footage from social media, from the drones that they had, and they will be considering whether there will be more arrests at a later stage." Vickrum Digwa, 23, was jailed for life on Monday for murdering Mr Nowak with a "Sikh dagger" in Southampton in December 2025. Digwa lied to police at the scene and claimed he had been the victim of a racist attack. In body-worn police footage from the incident, Mr Nowak - who was initially arrested himself - can be heard repeatedly saying: "I've been stabbed," to which an officer replies: "Don't think you have, mate." Sir Keir Starmer said the footage made him feel sick. Speaking after Digwa's sentencing on Monday, Mark Nowak, Henry's father, said the family did not want his death "to be used to create further division, hatred or tension". It comes after the father of Stephen Lawrence, an 18-year-old black British student who was murdered in a racially motivated attack in 1993, said history was "repeating itself" following Mr Nowak's death.
