An Indian Palm Squirrel perched on a tree branch in Wilderness Orchard. Also known as the Three-striped Palm Squirrel, this agile rodent is instantly recognizable by the prominent pale stripes running along its grey-brown back. With its bushy tail and quick movements, the squirrel is seen using its front paws to hold and eat food while balancing effortlessly among the branches. Indian Palm Squirrels are highly active during the day and are commonly found in gardens, parks, orchards, and urban green spaces. They are excellent climbers and spend much of their time searching for seeds, fruits, nuts, flowers, and insects.
