Video Description
Original Video Credit: IG/wallsroad When honey bees swarm, thousands of workers cluster tightly around their queen while searching for a new permanent home. In this video, the swarm settled high in a tree, making it difficult and potentially dangerous to reach with ladders or traditional removal methods. To bring the cluster down quickly, the beekeeper fires at the branch supporting the bees. The impact breaks the branch loose and causes the swarm to fall toward a hive box positioned below. Although the method looks aggressive, swarming bees are usually far less defensive than established hive colonies because they are not protecting honey stores or brood. The most important part of the process is ensuring the queen is placed inside the hive box after the swarm drops. Once the queen is secured in the box, worker bees begin following her pheromones and gradually regroup around her inside the new hive. Methods like this are generally considered last resort techniques for swarms located too high or too dangerously to access safely by hand. No copyright infringement intended.
