総務省が手数料の引き下げを求めたのは、さとふる、楽天など大手ふるさと納税のポータルサイト事業者です。
総務省によりますと、2024年度は仲介サイトを経由して行われた、ふるさと納税の寄付およそ1兆2000億円のうち、11.5%にあたる1379億円が広告やサイト掲載などの手数料として事業者に支払われたということです。
この手数料の水準について自治体からは「通常の通販より3倍以上高い」「制度が始まったときは一桁台前半だった」などの批判が上がっています。
総務省は事業者に8月までに回答を求めていて、その結果を踏まえて今後の対策を検討するとしています。
