JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Kasus dugaan korupsi Wakil Menteri Imigrasi dan Pemasyarakatan (Imipas), Silmy Karim terkait dugaan pemerasan izin tinggal warga negara asing (WNA) terungkap.
Sebelum ditahan KPK, Silmy sempat diminta menyerahkan diri usai penyidik KPK melakukan pengembangan buntut operasi tangkap tangan (OTT) Kepala Kantor Imigrasi Jakarta Barat, Ronald Arman Abdullah, yang dilakukan pada Selasa (2/6/2026) malam.
Usai pernyataan KPK tersebut, Wamen Imigrasi dan Pemasyarakatan, Silmy Karim, menyerahkan diri pada Rabu malam (3/6/2026). Namun, saat dimintai keterangan, Silmy enggan memberikan komentar.
Dalam konferensi pers pada Kamis (4/6/2026), Ketua KPK Setyo Budiyanto pun membeberkan modus dugaan pemerasan yang dilakukan saat warga negara asing melakukan proses pengajuan izin tinggal di Indonesia.
Pihak Istana hingga Menko Kumham Imipas Yusril Ihza Mahendra pun angkat bicara terkait kasus yang menjerat Silmy Karim tersebut.
