Video Description
A new research and development hub aims to improve fish feed quality, as aquaculture plays an increasingly important role in food security. Led by the Singapore Food Agency and the Singapore Institute of Technology, it's a testbed for producers to develop more nutritious feed, improve productivity and possibly lower costs for farms. Besides fish feed, S$6.3 million will also be pumped in to enhance marine tilapia production in Singapore. Last year, local seafood farm productivity increased nearly 27%, with total production of seafood standing at 3,800 tonnes. Natalie Ong reports.
