Togean Islands - Solo Travel & WW2 Wreck Diving (Sulawesi, Indonesia)

In today’s episode of the Sabang to Merauke journey, I solo travel to the stunning Togean Islands in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The islands adventure begins in Luwuk, where I ride through beautiful, mountainous landscapes to reach Ampana—the gateway to this remote paradise. After a close call with the boat schedule, I make it to Bomba, a hidden gem in the Togeans, and check into Araya Resort, where I stay in a dreamy treetop house overlooking the ocean. The journey continues with incredible activities: exploring one of the Togean Islands' most iconic dive sites, the WW2 B24 bomber wreck, diving with manta rays and sharks, visiting the unique Bajo village 'Desa Siatu,' kayaking in the open sea, and marveling at Sulawesi’s endemic hornbills at a famous viewing spot. This episode is packed with action, laughter, and unforgettable memories as I team up with the Araya Resort crew to uncover the treasures of the Togean Islands.
