A male Indian Peafowl, commonly known as the peacock, observed in the natural surroundings of Kaziranga National Park. Renowned for its dazzling iridescent blue plumage and elegant appearance, the Indian peafowl is one of the most recognizable birds in the world and serves as the national bird of India. The bird can be seen foraging on the forest floor, searching for seeds, fruits, insects, and other small food items. Peafowl are opportunistic omnivores and play an important role in their ecosystem by helping control insect and small reptile populations. Its striking blue neck, fan-shaped crest, and elongated ornamental train make the male peacock one of nature's most spectacular birds. During the breeding season, these ornate feathers are displayed in elaborate courtship rituals designed to attract females.
