Allah took the Covenant from the Progeny of Adam (pbuh) on the Day of 'Arafah The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Allah took the covenant from the loins of Adam in Na'man — i.e. 'Arafah. He brought forth from his loins every offspring He created, then He spread them before Him like ants, then He spoke to them face to face and said: "When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam from their loins – their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not our Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?" – They said: "Yes! We do testify!" (This), lest you should say on the Day of Judgement: "Of this we were never mindful": Or lest you should say: "Our fathers before us may have taken false gods, but we are (their) descendants after tham: wilt Thou then destroy us because of the deeds of men who were futile?" (Al A'raaf 7:172-173)."
