JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Kepala Dinas Penerangan TNI AD (Kadispenad) Brigjen TNI Donny Pramono menjelaskan bahwa keterlibatan TNI Angkatan Darat dalam penanganan aksi begal sah berdasarkan ketentuan perundang-undangan.
Ia menyampaikan bahwa penanganan aksi begal melalui mekanisme perbantuan kepada kepolisian sesuai Undang-Undang Nomor 3 Tahun 2002 tentang Pertahanan Negara dan Undang-Undang Nomor 34 Tahun 2004 tentang TNI.
"Perbantuan dilaksanakan sesuai ketentuan perundang-undangan dalam tugas operasi militer selain perang serta berdasarkan permintaan resmi dari pihak kepolisian," ujar Donny sebagaimana dikutip dari Antara, Jumat (29/5/2026).
Meski begitu, Donny mengatakan bahwa TNI AD tidak mengambil fungsi penegakan hukum.
"Kewenangan penyelidikan-penyidikan, penangkapan serta proses hukum tetap berada pada ranah Polri," tambahnya.
