Video Description
A Coppersmith Barbet (Psilopogon haemacephalus), also known as the Crimson-breasted Barbet, peering out from its nest cavity in a tree trunk. The bird's vibrant green plumage is complemented by its distinctive red forehead and throat patch, along with bright yellow markings around the face and eyes. Known as one of nature's skilled excavators, the Coppersmith Barbet uses its strong, stout bill to carve nesting chambers into soft or decaying wood, often selecting dead branches or aging tree trunks. The bird can be seen cautiously looking out from the entrance of its cavity, remaining alert to its surroundings before entering or exiting the nest. Common across much of India, this colorful species is famous for its repetitive metallic "tuk-tuk-tuk" call, which resembles the sound of a coppersmith striking metal. The footage offers a glimpse into the nesting behavior of one of India's most charismatic cavity-nesting birds. #CoppersmithBarbet #CrimsonBreastedBarbet #PsilopogonHaemacephalus #BirdNesting #BirdsOfIndia #IndianWildlife #NatureDocumentary #BirdWatching #WildlifeIndia #TreeCavityNest Coppersmith Barbet, Crimson-breasted Barbet, Psilopogon haemacephalus, barbet nesting behavior, cavity nesting bird, Indian birds, tree hole nest, bird peeking from nest, wildlife documentary birds, native birds of India This footage is part of the broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest HD and 4K collection from South Asia.
