Video Description
Akshay Kumar possesses such an intense passion and itch for performing stunts that he frequently puts his life on the line; indeed, he has narrowly escaped the jaws of death on several occasions. In one particular stunt—considered among the most dangerous in the history of Indian cinema—Akshay stood atop a flying airplane at an altitude of approximately 1,000 feet without any safety harness. Walking along the fuselage, he leaped mid-air and landed onto a hot air balloon. On a second occasion, while filming for the movie *Blue*, he dove into the ocean to shoot a scene without carrying any oxygen cylinder. There, upon seeing blood gushing from a head injury he sustained, a swarm of 40 to 50 sharks rushed toward him to attack; however, Akshay immediately surfaced to safety. The third instance occurred during the 1998 film *Angaaray*, in which he leaped from the seventh floor of one building to the fourth floor of another. This feat so terrified director Mahesh Bhatt that he fled the set, believing he could not bear to witness a man die. The fourth notable incident is the "Hanging Chopper Stunt": during an action sequence in the film *Sooryavanshi*, Akshay—suspended by a harness—hung beneath a helicopter flying mid-air and then leaped down onto a moving car speeding beneath him.
