🥊 FIGHT DESCRIPTION: Daniel Dubois retained his WBA “regular” heavyweight title in extraordinary fashion, rising from the canvas three times in a chaotic opening round—while appearing to suffer a knee injury—before stopping Kevin Lerena in the third round on the Fury–Chisora undercard in Tottenham. Dubois was floored early by a left hook, then took a knee on two separate occasions as his legs betrayed him. Yet despite the alarming start, the Brit somehow flipped the fight’s momentum. Lerena failed to press his advantage in the second round, allowing Dubois the breathing room he needed to recover, regain his balance, and ultimately turn the tables by dropping and stopping the South African in the third. Lerena showed plenty of heart and skill, though his lack of size was noticeable. While he had previously beaten large former heavyweight contenders Bogdan Dinu and Mariusz Wach, neither possessed the speed Dubois brings to the ring.
