Humanoid robots are becoming China's new calling card to attract foreign clients.
According to customs data, the country exported about 1.6 billion U.S. dollars-worth of robots in Q1 this year to 148 countries and regions worldwide.
Cleaning robots accounted for 70 percent of those exports worth roughly 1.1 billion U.S. dollars while the total value of industrial robot exports reached about 464 million in the first quarter.
Robot dogs are also a hot seller in overseas markets.
Devices like these can carry a five-kilo load and run for up to two hours on a single charge making them useful for things like property patrol and inspection in residential compounds or factories.
The sales manager of one robot company said the increase in exports of Chinese robots proves the country's prowess as a global tech leader.
Industry data shows that by the end of 2024, China had more than 450,000 enterprises involved in the smart robotics sector.
The country has become a net exporter of industrial robots and remains the world's largest robot producer.
