'Just shocked': Shooting on Prince Albert Street

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Ottawa's Overbrook neighbourhood in the 300 block of Prince Albert Street, one block from Presland Road, at approximately 1:10 p.m. CTV's Austin Lee reports that Ottawa paramedics stabilized the victim at the scene before transporting him to hospital. The Ottawa Police Service has one suspect in custody and says there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Witnesses described hearing a single gunshot and emerging to find the victim on the ground, with police responding quickly to the scene. Police are asking residents to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
