If you want to study in Australia, you will need to apply for a student visa. As part of your application, you will need to demonstrate that you are a genuine temporary entrant (GTE).
To meet the GTE requirement, you must have a genuine intention to study in Australia on a temporary basis and must provide evidence to support your application.
There are a number of factors that the Department of Home Affairs will consider when assessing your GTE status, including your:
- personal circumstances
- immigration history
- employment history
- ties to your home country
- reasons for wanting to study in Australia
You will need to provide evidence to support your application, which may include documents such as your:
- passport
- birth certificate
- employment history
- education history
- bank statements
If you are unable to provide evidence of your GTE, your application may be refused.
