Lanzhou, China is home to some of the best Chinese street food in the country, and today we’re eating at 5 local spots you have to try in Lanzhou!
清真·胡家包子(七里河店) – We’re starting with breakfast at a legendary halal bun shop to eat freshly steamed Beef Buns (Niúròu Bāozi / 牛肉包子), juicy and piping hot.
Price – 24 RMB (~$3.30 USD) per steamer
尤素福面片 – Next up is one of Lanzhou’s most comforting local noodle dishes, Mianpian (面片) – hand-torn wheat noodles in a rich halal broth. Simple, filling, and incredibly satisfying.
Price – 12 RMB (~$1.70 USD) per plate
春台手抓 – This spot is famous for Shou Zhua Yang Rou (手抓羊肉) – hand-grabbed boiled lamb, tender, clean-tasting, and perfectly cooked. We tried to pay… but the meal was on the house 🙏

马志雄辣子烤肉 – One of the most iconic street foods in Lanzhou: Spicy Lamb Skewers (Lazi Yangrouchuan / 辣子羊肉串), grilled over charcoal and coated in chili and cumin.
Price – 1 RMB (~$0.15 USD) per skewer
白塔巷 经典牛肉面 总店 – We finish with Lanzhou’s most famous dish at a classic shop: Lanzhou Beef Noodles (Niúròu Lāmiàn / 牛肉拉面) – hand-pulled noodles, clear broth, chili oil, and tender beef.
