Headstart: Human rights lawyer Neri Colmenares on Friday, May 22, said reports of former president Rodrigo Duterte experiencing falls while in detention do not automatically mean he is unfit to stand trial before the International Criminal Court (ICC). He argued that Duterte’s camp must prove that the former president can no longer understand the charges against him or effectively participate in his defense, adding that age and health concerns alone are not enough grounds to suspend proceedings.
