RIDERS STUCK ATOP A ROLLERCOASTER
Rescue teams on Thursday, May 28, worked to free people stuck high in the air on a malfunctioning rollercoaster at an amusement park in Galveston, Texas.
Local media coverage showed firefighters at the city's Pleasure Pier positioning a ladder truck under a car containing eight trapped riders, guiding them off the ride and down the ladder one by one.
Officials told local media the car was suspended 100 feet (30.4 meters) in the air on the Iron Shark rollercoaster after becoming stuck at approximately 5:20 PM. local time (2220 GMT). There were no immediate reports of injuries. | via Reuters
