From $5 Overpriced Hot Wheels to Iconic JDM Art Piece

This is my full custom build of a 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (Hakosuka) from the Hot Wheels Silver Series. I went all-in on this one — hand-building a magnetized removable front end that reveals a custom tube-frame chassis made entirely from styrene sheet and rod. Every detail was scratch-built to bring this JDM legend to life in 1:64 scale. From cutting, sanding, and fabricating the chassis to creating realistic suspension details, and a custom 1 of 1 paint job, this project pushed my limits as a diecast artist — and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
