Recipe:
-110g ground beef
-110g ground pork
-30g breadcrumbs
-15g grated Parmesan
-1 egg
-1 cloves garlic, minced
-1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 black pepper
-1/2 tsp dried oregano
-1-2 tbsp milk
-2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
Sauce:
-1 tbsp olive oil
-1 small onion, finely chopped
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-400g canned crushed tomatoes
-200g canned tomato sauce
-1/2 tsp dried basil
-1/2 tsp dried oregano
-1/2 salt
-1/2 tsp black pepper
-1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
-1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (optional)
Pasta:
-180g spaghetti
-salt for boiling water
Instructions:
Mix all meatball ingredients in a bowl. Form 2.5 cm balls. Heat olive oil in a pan and brown meatballs on all sides. Set aside.
In the same pan, sauté onion until soft, then add garlic. Pour in tomatoes and tomato sauce, then season with herbs, salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, adding meatballs back in after 5 minutes.
Boil salted water and cook spaghetti until al dente. Drain.
Toss spaghetti with a little sauce. Plate, top with meatballs and more sauce. Garnish with Parmesan and fresh basil.
