Toronto police are facing scrutiny after officers were caught on camera tackling a cyclist who allegedly disobeyed a stop sign near Little Norway Park.
Cycling advocate and lawyer David Shellnutt says: “This is a highway traffic matter, you are not supposed to use force in this situation.”
And while some are criticizing the officers for use of force, others in the area say cyclists aren’t always obeying the rules of the road.
“They really don’t obey any kind of stop signs, they think they own the road,” says one community member.
