Good and bad TOK, Episode 2

In the series “Good and bad TOK” Alexey takes a TOK essay title and gives two examples in response to it. One of these examples is good, the other example is bad. The “bad” example may look deceptively TOK-ish, but it is actually a first-order example that would not be appropriate for a TOK essay, and may result in a loss of marks. Your job is to tell the difference between the two, and to figure out which of the two examples is “good” and which one is “bad”. This may be harder than you think!
