Rachel Reeves says she thinks she will remain as chancellor long enough to deliver the next budget, due this autumn.
Speaking to Sky News, Reeves pointed to the UK’s recent economic performance as the reason she believes she will stay in the role.
"In thee almost two years I've been chancellor, I've got the economy growing, beating the forecasts," she adds. "We were the fastest growing economy in the G7 in the first quarter of this year, defying the forecasts."
