AI is here, the question is whether it will improve the lives of all Canadians or benefit only a few – those were the words of Prime Minister Mark Carney as he unveiled his government’s national strategy on artificial intelligence Thursday. Joining Dawna Friesen is Richard St-Pierre, a senior adviser on quantum and AI sovereignty at Quebec business and technology firm Levio to provide analysis on the announcement. “I think it’s much better than whatever was there before. So, he says ‘strategy for AI for all’ and I think the ‘all’ encompasses empathy toward others is part and central to the unveiling of the policy that was done today,” St-Pierre said.
