The Jujutsu Kaisen opening singers, King Gnu, are facing backlash in Japan after recent comments about loud fans during their concert went viral.
King Gnu performed the JJK Season 2 opening “SPECIALZ” and are also singers for Season 3 with “Aizo.” They also sang from Jujutsu Kaisen 0. After holding a concert in Japan, some fans complained that audience members were singing too loudly and ruining the experience.
Then vocalist Satoru Iguchi responded by saying he wants fans to sing at the top of their lungs — even louder than the person next to them. That statement quickly blew up on Japanese Twitter and divided the fandom.
Some fans argued:
“We paid to hear the singer, not amateurs.”
“Is it wrong to want to hear the artist’s voice?”
Others defended King Gnu, saying concerts are meant to be loud, hyped, and energetic.
Now the debate continues:
Pro-Loud vs Anti-Loud Concert Culture
Is this a misunderstanding of Japanese concert etiquette? Or are fans overreacting?
Personally, I understand both sides. I’ve been to concerts like TWICE, and I’m even attending an IVE concert soon — and a loud, hyped crowd can honestly make the experience unforgettable. But in Japan, concert culture is different. A lot of fans go specifically to hear the artist clearly, so expectations aren’t always the same.
