One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce has little hope in the "conniving" Labor Party’s ability to rein in their spending, as tax changes pass in the lower house.
“What we have seen is a government that is looking for money. Let’s remove from the lexicon that this is a moralistic, virtuous, striving for people to go into houses. It's a conniving way that the Labor party tries to find the money,” Mr Joyce told Sky News Australia.
“They have gone to your house, they have gone to your business, they have gone to the sweat of your brow and the efforts you have made to try to get ahead in life and said Uncle Jimmy will take 47 per cent of that.
“I don’t think they show any capacity, any sort of pecuniary skills to rein in their spending.
“The only thing that will go up is our debt.”
