Tropical storm Jangmi brings torrential rain to Tokyo | ABS-CBN News

Torrential rain brought by tropical storm Jangmi lashed Tokyo on Wednesday (June 3) morning, with some rivers along central Tokyo, such as Meguro River, already overflowing. Local media reported 700 domestic and international flights have also been grounded at Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita Airports. Evacuation warnings for parts of neighbouring Yokohama along with landslide warnings for parts of Japan's eastern coastal region have been announced, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency's official website. At least 16 people were injured, and thousands left with temporary power outages after Jangmi blew through Okinawa on Monday (June 1).
