Instead of using electronics or animated displays, these books create motion through a mechanical optical effect built directly into the page itself.
As the page opens and closes, a thin striped plastic layer slides across a sequence of carefully arranged image frames. That movement reveals different parts of the picture in rapid succession, making the sea creatures appear to swim and move naturally.
The technique works similarly to lenticular printing, but the motion is controlled entirely by the reader’s hand movement, turning a traditional book into something that feels almost cinematic.
