At least 21 people were killed after a fire broke out at a restaurant in Delhi on Wednesday morning (Jun 3). The blaze is believed to have started at the Lemon Green Restaurant before spreading to a hotel above it.
A total of 47 people have been rescued so far. Officials said many of those killed were foreign nationals.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and announced an ex gratia payment of 200,000 rupees (US$2,090) for the next of kin of each victim. Those injured will receive 50,000 rupees (US$523).
The cause of the fire is under investigation. #indianews
