Timelapse shows thousands of Muslim pilgrims in Mina and Mecca during Hajj rituals

Timelapse footage on the first day of Eid al Adha showed more than 1.5 million Muslim pilgrims in Mina headed to the Jamarat site to perform the symbolic stoning of the devil, one of the central rituals of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. The pilgrims later gathered around the Kaaba in Mecca for morning prayers before many completed core Hajj rites, including circling Islam’s holiest site and walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah.
