Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell discusses an altercation between former deputy prime minister Michael McCormack and members of the public outside a footy club during the State of Origin game.
“There was this altercation between the former deputy prime minister Michael McCormack and some tradies outside Eastlake footy club after Mr McCormack objected to the behaviour of the tradies during the week,” he said.
“And then there was this social media post from independent MP Bob Katter as he claimed to be headed to the prime minister’s office to protest the controversial send-off, which cost Queensland the first State of Origin win.
“Katter never went to see the PM about it, I am told.”
