After 10 years of running my Streamline RC jet boat setup that I know inside and out, I finally decided to try something different—just to see how it compares in real conditions.
Right away, the size caught me off guard. At 1/6 scale, this thing is big - LIKE WIDE! A little derpy when you first see it .. but I found it grew on me in personality. Sitting next to my TRX4 High Trail, it really puts things into perspective—it actually makes the truck look small, which isn’t easy to do.
Out on the water, it’s a fun platform. on 16v (4s) It’s quick, carries speed well, and has a very approachable feel right from the start. It’s the kind of boat you can put down and enjoy immediately without needing much dialing in. The reverse option on the thruster is a nice to have.
That said, once you spend a bit more time with it, you start to notice some of the differences in design and handling. There are a few areas where I can see the trade-offs compared to what I’ve been used to over the years—especially when it comes to control and overall refinement.
But that’s part of what made this interesting to try. It’s a different experience, and honestly, it was a lot of fun to run.
And of course… we had to do it properly—backing the truck down the ramp and launching it for real.
At the end of the day, I wouldn’t say this replaces what I’ve trusted for years—but it definitely brings something different to the table, and I can see why people enjoy running it.
Curious to hear what you guys think—would you try something like this, or stick with what you know?
