'A kamag-anak at every level': Chel blasts 'Pro-Dynasty bill' in Congress | DZMM TeleRadyo

Chel Diokno is not happy with House Bill No. 8389, calling it a “Pro-Dynasty Bill” because it allows members of the same family to sit at every level of power from the local to the national. Speaking to DZMM, Diokno said the bill only disallows relatives from sitting in the same seat of power such as siblings both serving as senators. “Pwede pa rin magkaroon ng kamag-anak sa ibang level. Pero kung may isa kang kapamilya sa national level, let's say senator, pwede pa rin siya magkaroon ng kasamahan sa kapamilya sa Kongreso. Pwede pa rin siya magkaroon ng kapamilya sa governor. Pwede pa rin sa mayor kasi ganoon ang ginawa nilang paghati-hati.” “Kaya kami ay nabahala dahil sabi namin, ganoon pa rin ang mangyayari.
