Thank you for watching!
Following this morning's short video, here is a detailed unboxing and taste test review of Lawson's newly released anniversary special: the "Too Much Challenge Lucky Bag" (2,160 JPY tax incl.)!
It has a whopping total weight of about 2kg and contains 16 different Japanese snacks and cup noodles! In this video, I categorized them into groups and tasted each one to give you my honest review.
(*Since I couldn't eat all 4 cup noodles at once, I chose just one to taste test!)
👇 Here is the full product lineup (Prices are estimated market values for reference):
🍿 Snacks
• Koikeya "Scorn - Hooked on Shrimp" (155 JPY): Crunchy corn snacks with rich shrimp flavor and a sweet-savory kick.
• Calbee "Potato Chips - French Salad" (150 JPY): Potato chips featuring the refreshing tang of vinegar-based French dressing.
• Suehiro Seika "Hineriage" (150 JPY): Crunchy twisted snacks seasoned with Naruto Uzushio salt. The unique shape is great too!
🍘 Savory Snacks (Otsumami)
• Sanko Seika "Sanko no Kakinotane - Ume Zarame" (270 JPY): Sweet and sour rice crackers with sour plum aroma and granulated sugar—pairs perfectly with peanuts!
• Hizatsuki Seika "Ware Senbei" (180 JPY): Traditional, firm broken rice crackers. Comes in a mix of soy sauce, salt, and rich sesame flavors.
• Natori "Jacky Calpass" (400 JPY): Juicy and savory bite-sized dry sausages.
🍪 Family Pack Sweets
• Heiwado "Unsorted Mix Baked Donuts" (400 JPY): Plenty of plain and cocoa donuts. They look like donuts but have a texture closer to scones.
• Bourbon "Elise" (400 JPY): A classic popular sweet! Crispy wafers filled with plenty of white cream and chocolate cream.
• Happy Pocket "Cream Sand Cracker Assort" (300 JPY): Crispy crackers sandwiching three cream flavors: milk, strawberry, and chocolate.
🍬 Candies & Jellies
• Morinaga "Salt Caramel" (250 JPY): Soft caramels made with Lorraine rock salt from France. A delicious balance of sweetness and a distinct salty touch.
• Lotte "Koume" (240 JPY): A nostalgically popular sweet and sour candy made with Kishu Nanko plum juice.
• Umios "Kudamono Tanoshii - Ume Juice Style with Nata de Coco" (100 JPY): A refreshing, jiggly plum-flavored jelly with a nice chewy texture from Nata de Coco bits.
🍜 Instant Cup Noodles
• Acecook "Yokosuka Navy Curry Ramen" (200 JPY) [TASTED!]: A rare cup noodle that actually contains curry roux! It has a nice spiciness similar to Cup Noodle Curry, but it's a bit disappointing that the noodle portion is only 50g (compared to the usual 60–70g).
• Nissin "Donbei PRO - High Protein & Low Carb" (260 JPY): (Brief intro without tasting) A great Donbei udon featuring high protein and low carbs.
• Toyo Suisan "Maruchan Mendukuri - Awase Miso" (170 JPY): (Brief intro without tasting) Glad to see these premium non-fried noodles.
• Nissin "Yakisoba Petit U.F.O." (160 JPY): (Brief intro without tasting) A cute mini-sized version of the classic U.F.O. stir-fried noodles.
