Residents in Calgary’s southeast communities of Copperfield and New Brighton say wind-blown garbage from the Shepard landfill continues to litter streets, ponds and green spaces weeks after a major "garbage tornado" event.
Neighbours say cleanup efforts have fallen short, raising concerns about impacts on wildlife and the environment.
The city says fencing, catch barriers and operational changes are in place during windy conditions.
But Councillor Mike Jamieson says stronger physical barriers may now be needed as the landfill grows. Skylar Peters reports.
