US President Donald Trump has praised outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Gabbard resigned earlier in the week, citing her husband’s cancer diagnosis.
In her resignation letter, she announced she would be leaving the job on June 30.
Trump, calling Gabbard a “terrific person”, expressed gratitude for her “tireless efforts” as DNI Secretary.
The president went on to praise the DNI secretary for being able to successfully cut the number of staff under her by 40 per cent.
Gabbard was also congratulated for preventing “countless: terrorist and cartel members from entering the US.
The president also thanked Gabbard for declassifying files pertaining to the assassinations of RFK and JFK.
