🇵🇭 San Guillermo Parish Church in Bacolor, Pampanga, was buried under approximately 6 meters (about 20 feet) of lahar during the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption and subsequent lahar flows in the mid-1990s.
Because of this, only the upper portion of the church remains visible today—the rest, including much of the original façade and interior, is submerged beneath volcanic debris. Locals and church officials excavated what they could and adapted the upper half for continued use.
