This time, a tiny little white tag on a seal's neck gave it away: this animal was entangled. It’s incredibly difficult to spot an entanglement on a moving target. We admit, we sometimes get it wrong, mistaking old scars from previous rescues for a current crisis. But our team’s dedication and eagle eyes are our greatest assets. In an urgent rescue, the OCN team proved their expertise, getting it right just in time. The black rope was deeply embedded in the seal’s flesh, causing severe infection and pain. While not fatal at this moment, it inevitably would have led to his downfall. But not today!
