MMDA uses CCTVs to catch litterbugs | DZMM TeleRadyo

Courtesy of DZMM TeleRadyo Ex-PNP chief and now MMDA general manager Nicolas Torre III is taking the fight against garbage seriously, with several litterbugs facing fines or community service after being caught in the act by MMDA CCTV cameras. Torre said MMDA cameras have caught some individuals cleaning the front of their houses, and then dumping the garbage in esteros. Other litterbugs include drivers who smoke in public and then throwing their cigarette butts in esteros. The MMDA chief said there is a need to educate the public to act responsibly when it comes to waste, noting that the garbage problem exacerbates floods.
