The Volkswagen Taigun has always been the enthusiast’s SUV. It never needed a massive feature list to win hearts, it just needed a good road and a few corners.
For 2026, Volkswagen has updated the Taigun with a new 8-speed torque converter automatic for the 1.0L TSI, improved claimed fuel efficiency, smoother drivability, updated infotainment, a panoramic sunroof, and improved air conditioning.
But in a segment dominated by features, screens, and ADAS, does the Taigun still stand out for what made people love it in the first place?
The 1.0L TSI now gets the new 8-speed AT, while the 1.5L TSI continues with the 7-speed DSG.
2026 Volkswagen Taigun Price (Ex-showroom): Starts at ₹10.99 lakh, and goes up to ₹19.29 lakh for the GT Plus Sport 1.5L TSI DSG
In this review, Glen drives the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift in Rajasthan to see if the German feel is still intact, and whether this is still the default choice for enthusiasts.
