In this talk, Hanxiao Gu reflects on anxiety, confusion, and the invisible limits we often place on ourselves. From teaching and studying education to becoming a freediving instructor, underwater sports athlete, designer, interpreter, and entrepreneur, she shares how each unexpected turn helped her discover new forms of potential. Her story invites us to see uncertainty not as a dead end, but as a driving force for exploration—and to believe that it is never too late to bloom in more than one color. Hanxiao Gu is the CEO of Qianligu Muse Technology and founder of the LEAH GU co-branded product line. She is a resident diving guest on Beijing Sports Radio BRTV and the first Chinese member of the AIDA International Disciplinary Committee. Active across freediving, underwater hockey, underwater rugby, and underwater photography, she has earned recognition both as an athlete and as an official. Her recent achievements include winning the women’s DNF title at the 2025 Emerald City Apnea Challenge in the United States, serving as captain of China’s national underwater rugby team at the 2025 Singapore Open, and becoming the first Chinese female photography art judge at the Asian Underwater Photography Championship.
