In this talk, Jiayue Jin shares her journey from being defined by public roles, camera-ready perfection, and online judgment to reclaiming her own narrative. Through a live-broadcast controversy, her decision to create content on her own terms, and her transition from host to actress, she reflects on what it truly means to “bloom.” Her story invites us to ask whether we are growing from our own soil—or simply trying to flower inside someone else’s rules. Jiayue Jin graduated from the Broadcasting and Hosting Arts program at the Communication University of China. She has hosted major platforms and events including CCTV’s China Literary Report, the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, NBA, and CBA. She was also a popular guest on Heart Signal 5. As an actress, she appeared in iQIYI dramas A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality and Chaoyunsan. With strong hosting skills and on-screen presence, she has built a cross-disciplinary career in sports, entertainment, fashion, and film. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
